Mythologie and psychology; about the invasion of Russia in Ukraine

T ijdens mijn telefoondiensten heb ik af en toe diepzinnige gesprekken over relaties. Wat is toch het geheim van een goede relatie? Wat breng jij in?  Wat mag je van de ander verwachten? Ik wil proberen zo kort en bondig mogelijk te zijn, want met name dit onderwerp is een verleiding tot oeverloosheid.   Even nog dit; ik heb niet alle wijsheid in pacht en schrijf maar voor de vuist weg wat ik zoal tegen ben gekomen tijdens die gesprekken en de conclusies die we in een dialoog met elkaar trokken. Commentaar en aanvulling is welkom! Daarom val ik maar meteen met de deur in huis. In de psychologie spreken we bij verliefdheid vaak grappend over een "kortdurende psychose". ;-))  Waarom?  Omdat je romantische gevoelens niet worden gestuurd door het dagdagelijkse filter in ons systeem, geleid door onze neo-cortex, waarmee we afwegen of iets juist en verstandig is om te doen of niet. We live in times of war again People are complaining. We have to stop the war ASAP. War is dreadful, bad for the economy, and oh man, those awful atrocities, we do not feel safe anymore. True. It is a curse, but as long as there are leaders in this World, with their ideas of concurring neighbors who seem to do better, or have illusions of historical restoring balance or need others possessions to survive, there will be war. But history shows that war also brings development. Look at what WW2 delivered to us. Computers and GSM's in the end. Better planes, medical developments, art, clothing, furniture, home devices, weapons, lifestyle, international alliances, traveling, and a lot more. But what I want to talk about is the new role of men and women. When men were fighting on the front, ladies (and children) had to do the work back home. When someone is active nowadays onTwitter, will meet them one way or another. Accounts of persons with strange names who have a profile picture with a funny dog, cat or other cute animal with humanoid clothes and attributes. They call themselves "Fella's" and they are connected by NAFO , the North Atlantic Fella Organisation. No link with NATO, not even an organisation.  More like a movement, world wide. A group adults concerned by the fate of Ukraïne, fighting against the Russian invasion accompanied with propaganda: fakenews and lies, shared daily on the internet, on mainstream media, on Youtube, on Twitter or other socials. Lots of these Fella's are deeply involved in Ukraine, volonteering, driving old ambulances, energy supplies, food, clothes, pillows and blankets to Lviv or deeper into the warzone.  Lots of them donate money monthly or even more frequently. The human mind developed lots of narratives to deal with the harsh reality of cruelty in nature and aggressive neighbors. Stealing each other’s valuable possessions and land is as old as human existence. Religions and Myths are ways to explain the cosmos and daily life and give solutions to ease the mind in an overwhelming world. In our Western civilization, Greek mythology is known as our cradle of values, next to the later accepted Biblical values.
